CHILD PROTECTION: BUILDING SAFER COMMUNITIES FOR CHILDREN
Child abuse remains a serious and widespread issue across Asia. Every child deserves to grow up safe, respected, and free from harm — yet too many children remain vulnerable.
ChildSafe Malaysia is a prevention and awareness initiative by Fondation Rolf Schnyder, dedicated to strengthening community-based protection for children. Recognising that no single organisation can protect children alone, the initiative focuses on building a collective ecosystem of care involving schools, teachers, parents, and communities.
Through education and awareness, ChildSafe Malaysia equips caregivers and educators with practical knowledge to recognise risks and respond appropriately. At the same time, it provides age-appropriate safety education that helps children understand their right to safety and how to seek help when they are in danger or need support.
Since 2019, ChildSafe Malaysia has trained over 549 teachers, who in turn have reached more than 15,334 childrenacross Malaysia. These efforts continue to expand through partnerships with schools and community organisations.
Why community collaboration matters
Protecting children requires everyone working together. When parents, teachers, and communities share responsibility and remain vigilant, they create stronger protective networks around children. ChildSafe Malaysia exists to foster this shared commitment — turning awareness into action and building safer environments where children can grow and thrive.
